Wanda Gay Phillips, 68, passed away November 29, 2013, at home with her family by her side.
Born April 10, 1945, she was preceded in death by her father, Clay Thompson; brother, W. C. Thompson; father-in-law, James H. Phillips; and brothers-in-law: Alane Phillips and Garland Keith Phillips.
She was a member of Elgin Church of Christ, and loved to sew and make quilts with her sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Dewayne Phillips; children: Tonja Draughn and husband, Danny, Teresa York, Howard York, and Teresa Powers all of Oneida; mother, Elsie Thompson Ellis of Robbins; mother-in-law, Elsie M. Phillips of Oneida; grandchildren: Jason, Micheal, Jared, Jessica, and Latasha Draughn, and Seth, Paige, and McKayla York; great-grandchildren: Nick, Jolee, Harley, Kloe, Emma, and Brayden; sisters: Gerald Faye Caruthers and husband, Dave, of Mich., Lavada Wheeler and husband, Tom, of Live Oak, Fla., Sharyln Young of Sunbright, and Glenda Joe Phillips of Robbins; brother, Steve Thompson and wife, Debbie, of Robbins; sisters-in-law: Elaine Byrge of Oneida, and Janice Thompson of Gray; special friend, Delpi Potter; special nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted December 2, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville with Bro. Stan Day officiating. Graveside service was conducted December 3, at Diamond Cemetery.
Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville had charge of arrangements.
