MAYNARDVILLE — It would have been hard for Scott to have imagined a worst first half than the one that saw Union County jump to a 21-0 lead here Friday.

And while the Highlanders could have probably imagined a better second half, it was just good enough, as they scored four straight touchdowns, then held on for a 28-27 lead.

Scott (5-1) won after stopping Union County (1-5) on a two-point conversion play with 1:27 to play, avoiding what would have been a big upset win by the Patriots.
