Lenora Marcum Allen, 87, of Carrolton, Georgia, formerly of Scott and Cumberland counties, passed away September 3, 2013, at her home.
Born in Scott County, March 1, 1926, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elsie Hutson Marcum; first husband, James Burgess; daughter, Robin Burgess; and brother, Calvin Marcum.
She was a member of Midway Macedonia Baptist Church; and a former employee of Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Carterís Ink Incorporated in Crossville.
She is survived by her daughters: Judith Holladay of Nashville, Lynda Minton and Cynthia Burgess, both of Memphis, Melissa Caudle of Carrollton, Ga., and Lisa Pittman of Cumming, Ga.; sons: Richard Burgess of Akron, Ohio, Royce Burgess and wife, Janie, of Crossville, and Charles Burgess of Carrolton, Ga.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters: Alma Cody and Donna Chambers; and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted September 7, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville with Bro. Mike Chambers officiating. Music was provided the Chambers Family. Interment followed at Marcum Cemetery in the Straight Fork community.
Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville had charge of arrangements.
