Twelve-year-old MaKayla Byrge, of Huntsville, was crowned Miss Pre-Teen Fairest of the Fair at the 87th annual Scott County Fair Thursday evening.

MaKayla, the daughter of Felicia Tyra and Kent Tyra, is a seventh grade student at Huntsville Middle School.

She was one of 16 contestants between the ages of 11 and 13 competing in the 12th annual Miss Pre-Teen pageant. She was crowned after the panel of three judges from Crossville, Tenn., trimmed the field to seven finalists.
