HUNTSVILLE — By an 11-3 vote here Monday evening, County Commission gave its tentative approval to a proposal to turn the county’s wastewater treatment plant and lines — debt free — to the Town of Huntsville.

That action came during the commission’s regular monthly meeting at the Scott County Office Building.

The motion approved by the commission hinges on the town’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen’s approval, as well as meeting with the approval of the state and the USDA — which provided federal funds to the county for part of financing of the county’s sewer system.
