Lloyd George "Bucky" Lay, 81, of the Rock House community, passed away July 7, 2013, at Oneida Nursing & Rehab Center in Oneida.

Born in Scott County, December 20, 1931, he was preceded in death by his parents, George Flemon and Bertie Arvilla Silcox Lay; wife, Margie D. Lay; brothers: J.P., J.W., Larry, Earl, James, and C. Eugene Lay; and sisters: Geneva Navarro and Nancy Collins.

He was a member of Five Black Gums Baptist Church, and enjoyed farming, woodworking, and watching the Cincinnati Reds baseball games.

He is survived by his children: Sheila Todd and husband, Ronald, of Murfreesboro, Timmy Lay and wife, Kim, of Huntsville, Phillip Lay and wife, Kim, of the Rock House community, Holly Yancey and husband, Gary, and Ben Lay and wife, Karen, all of Huntsville, and Amy Terry and husband, Anthony of Oneida; grandchildren: Laura, Andrew, Joseph, Joshua, Jacob, Jordan, Erin, Megan, April, Chase, McKelia, Spenser, Gabriel, Kaitlyn, Luke, and Noah; great-grandchildren: Austin, Peyton, Ethan, Shaya, Zoie, Canaan, Kenton, and Kaydence; brothers: Amon Lay and wife, Bertha, and Hoyle Lay and wife, Kathleen; sisters: Eula Lay, Luretta Comer, Dorothy Tighe, Phyllis Muse, and Sarah McGinnis and husband, Gerald; sister-in-law, Caroline Lay; several niece and nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted July 10, at Five Black Gum Baptist Church with Bro. Chase Lay and Bro. Pete Norman officiating. Music was provided by Jamie and Toni Byrd, Velva Sexton, and Robbie McKamey. Interment followed at Lay-Silcox Cemetery.

Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville had charge of arrangements.
