Thelbert Butler, 73, of Oneida, passed away May 31, 2013, at Tennova North Knoxville Medical Center in Knoxville.
Born in Scott County, September 19, 1939, he was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie Butler and Lemuel West; wife, Ella Mae Allen Butler; daughters: Maudie Sexton and infant, Sharon Rose; sister, Gilberta Jeffers; and grandparents: Alfred and Maudie Butler, Crusoe West, and Nancy Cotton.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his brothers: MacArthur Butler, and Clinton Butler and wife, JoAnn; brother-in-law, Travis Jeffers; nieces and their husbands: Carol and Curt Phillips, and Judy and Curtis West; and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted June 3, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida with Bro. Ronnie Duncan officiating. Music was provided by Ronnie Duncan. Interment followed at Peaceful Rose Gardens Cemetery.
Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida had charge of arrangements.
