Scott County’s highest peaks

Scott County has eight mountain peaks that stand taller than 3,000 feet in elevation. All are located in the Cumberland Mountains in southern Scott County, with most located directly on the Scott County line that is shared with Morgan, Anderson and Campbell counties. The three tallest peaks are Walnut Knob, Burge Mountain, and Guinea Hill Knob, all of which are 3,250 feet in elevation.

Scott County only has one peak that meets the qualifications for a summit: View Tree Knob, which is located on the Scott-Campbell line in eastern Scott County, has a prominence of 980 feet. It stands 2,750 feet, making it the 12th-highest peak in Scott County. It was once the site of a Tennessee Division of Forestry wildfire lookout tower.
