Rick Keeton

Ricky A. Keeton was the 20th mayor of Scott County, serving in that capacity from 2006 to 2010. He is also the long-serving “Voice of the Highlanders” as radio and television play-by-play broadcaster for Scott High School athletics and is retired from First National Bank of Oneida.

Keeton was appointed to the Scott County Mayor’s office by County Commission in 2006, to fulfill the unexpired term of Dwight Murphy, who had resigned to take on the role of president of Tennessee College of Applied Technology Oneida/Huntsville. Keeton represented Scott County’s 4th District on County Commission at the time. Keeton won election to the office in August 2006, defeating Oneida alderman Jeff Tibbals. In 2010, the two men faced off again, with Tibbals winning.
