Jarett Trammell
Jarett Trammell (1820 – April 3, 1865) was a Union soldier from Scott County who died during the Civil War.

Biography
Born in 1820, Jarett Trammell was the son of David Trammell (1793-1872) and Lucinda Holt (1795-1872). His paternal grandfather was Capt. Dennis Trammell, a Revolutionary War veteran who settled in present-day Scott County after the war.
Jarett had a half-brother, Daniel Martin Branham (1813-1863) who also died during the Civil War. His other siblings included Dauswell Trammell (1822-1888), Nancy McDaniel (1824-1912), James Marion Trammell (1827-1893), Mary Creekmore (1830-1871), Hiram Trammell (1832-1890), Sarah Elizabeth Chitwood (1834-1907), Richard Trammell (1836-1918), Elizabeth Stephens (1837-1912), and Lucinda Murphy (1840-1914).
Jarett married Luvina Marcum (about 1821 – 1890) on May 19, 1839. She was first married to Elisha Daugherty (1808-1868). They had at least four children together: Sarah Daugherty (1830-1880), Anna Daugherty (born 1836), Hiram Clay Daugherty (1838-1908), and Tabitha Smith (born about 1839). Jarett and Luvina had several more children: Frederick S. Trammell (1846-1894), Lucinda Jane Burchfield (1847-1880), David Trammell (born about 1849), Nancy Emmaline Stanley (1850-1941), Melvina “Meldy” Crabtree (1855-1921), Martha Trammell (born 1858), and perhaps Julia Ann Trammell (born 1864).
Civil War
Jarett enlisted in the Union army on Aug. 10, 1862 at Murfreesboro, Tenn. He was assigned to Co. A, 2nd Tennessee Cavalry. He died of bloody flux at Vicksburg, Miss. on April 3, 1865.
Aftermath
Luvina obtained a pension for Jarett’s service in the war following his death. She did not remarry. A FindAGrave entry for Duncan Cemetery in McCreary County, Ky. states that Luvina was born 1810 and died Feb. 25, 1890 at age 79. However, she was still alive when the 1900 census was taken, and was 78 at that time. She lived in Scott County at the time with her daughter, Martha Trammell, and grandchildren Squire (16) and Mary (13).
