James Goins

James Franklin Goins (July 15, 1921 – May 4, 1945) was a U.S. Army soldier who died in Belgium during World War II. Although he is listed on the VFW Post 5669 Memorial Wall in Oneida, the Scott County Veterans Memorial in Huntsville, and the East Tennessee Veterans Memorial in Knoxville, he does not appear to have ever lived in Scott County or have any ties to Scott County. He was originally from Huntsville, Ala. and lived in South Pittsburg, Tenn. when he registered for the draft. Corrected information can be emailed to newsroom@ihoneida.com.
