Dennis Jeffers

Dennis Jeffers is the 25th mayor of Scott County, having served in that capacity since Sept. 1, 2022. Prior to that, he served 10 years as the mayor of Huntsville.

Jeffers won election in a four-way race in the 2026 general election, defeating incumbent Jerried Jeffers, Jennifer Shockley, and Trent Cross. Jeffers received 3,457 votes, or 56% of the vote. His closest competitor, Jerried Jeffers, received 1,501 votes, or 24%.

Jeffers was the Republican candidate in the 2026 election, having won an uncontested race for the party’s nomination.
