1880 map of Scott County

This hand-drawn map of Scott County was made on cloth, using colored inks and pencils. Property owners, rivers, and smaller streams are shown in brown ink. Railroads are shown in purple ink. Land entry notations and dates are in pencil. The artist is not known. The map is preserved by the Tennessee State Library and Archives. It is believed to date to about 1880 or shortly thereafter, as the Cincinnati & Southern Railway was not completed through Scott County until 1879.
