An Oneida man managed to elude authorities on Friday, but was unable to do so on Saturday.

Shaun A. Slaven, 39, was arrested Saturday following a foot pursuit through town.

Slaven had allegedly fled from Oneida Police Department K-9 Officer Toby Jeffers late Friday evening.

On Saturday, OPD Patrolman Skylar Chambers encountered Slaven at the JayCee Ballpark behind Oneida High School. A foot pursuit ensued, with Slaven running across Slaven Lane and through the recreation complex at Bethlehem Baptist Church, across Alberta Street near the Independent Herald and ino the woods by the Oneida Guest House.

Jeffers caught up with Slaven on Seneca Circle, at which point Slaven allegedly stopped and "said he was done," also telling Jeffers he did not know why he had run the night before.

Slaven was charged with evading arrest.
