Morgan Reece King, 59, of Helenwood, passed away December 28, 2017, at Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida.
Born in Oneida, April 12, 1958, he was preceded in death by his father, Estol Lee King; son, Seth King; grandparents: Emby and Beatrice King, and Frank and Fuchsia Chambers; and father- and mother-in-law, Bob and Anne Roark Chambers.
He was a 1976 graduate of Oneida High School, and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He worked for many years at Oneida Special School District as a special education aide, and was an avid turkey hunter, as well as a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Connie Roark King of Helenwood; son, Tyler King of Knoxville; granddaughter, Velouria King of Knoxville; mother, Imogene (James) King Laxton of Oneida; sister, Gina (Steve) Phillips of Oneida; in-laws: Teresa (Joel) Jones of Knoxville, Cindy Daniel of Oneida, and Jeff Roark; nieces and nephews: Stephen and Jonathan Phillips, and Jordan, Bailey and Ben Roark; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was conducted January 1, in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Philip Kazee officiating. Music was provided by Tyler King, Jonathan and Stephen Phillips, Cody Stephens, and Irene and Thea Chitwood. Interment followed at Kingtown Cemetery
