Gladis Owens, 79, of Oneida, passed away October 25, 2017, at Huntsville Manor Nursing & Rehab Facility in Huntsville.
Born January 14, 1938, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Bowling; great-grandson, Marcus Tucker; parents, Virgial and Lillie Harness Bowling; brother, Lester Bowling; and sisters: Violia Foley, Lola Brown, and Hazel Cross.
She was a member of Black Creek Crossroads Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Durita Slaven; son, Billy Joe Bowling; grandson, Dustin Slaven; great-granddaughter, Savanah Slaven; sisters, Elsie Denoyer and Edna Cross; brothers: Sylvester Bowling, Harold Bowling, and Laurence Bowling; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was to have been conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 1, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Byrge officiating. Interment was to have followed at Black Creek Cross Roads Cemetery.
