Prillie Stephens Chitwood Chambers, 85, of Oneida, passed away October 14, 2017, at Tennova North Hospital in Powell.
Born in Scott County, March 4, 1932, she was preceded in death by her parents, Odas and Elsie Webb Stephens; first husband, Pershing Chitwood; second husband, Clifton Chambers; grandchildren: Brent Strunk, Marcia Chitwood, and Mark Chitwood; and brother, Cecil Stephens.
She was a member of Hazel Valley Baptist Church, and was a member of the Jellico Creek Quartet, singing at many funerals in Kentucky and Tennessee.
She is survived by her son, Sherman (Jerri) Chitwood; twin daughters: Sharon Strunk of Winfield, and Karen Keeton of Oneida; step-son, James (Opal) Chambers of Oneida; granddaughter, Debbie Laxton of Helenwood; great-grandchildren: Brooke, Raven, Journey, Kirby, Isaiah, Seth, Trevor, and Conner; in-laws: Samantha Chitwood, Valerie Strunk, and Glenda Parr; special friends: Gail Seven and Heather Cecil and families, Marie and Gayson Thomas, Penny Woods, Carol Jeffers, Bridget Ball, and Shirley Davis; and several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was to have been conducted Wednesday, October 18, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Dudley Harness and Bro. Kevin Sexton officiating. Music was to have been by Gail Seven and Doris Potter. Interment was to have followed at Chitwood Cemetery.
