Hollis Carson, 71, of Oneida, passed away October 10, 2017, at Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center in Oneida.

Born November 30, 1945, he was preceded in death by his parents, William Henderson and Dortha Mae Lewis Carson; and brother, William Glen Carson.

He was the owner of Carson’s Budget Tires for more than 30 years; a member of New Haven Baptist Church; a Vietnam Army veteran; a life-time member of VFW; a member of American Legion Post #5669; and a member of Masonic Lodge #695 F&AM, where he was a 32nd Degree Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Jannie Burress Carson of Oneida; children: Theron Shane (Stacey) Chitwood, Holly (Glen) Hood, and Hollin Deran (Amy) Carson; brothers:  Nathaniel (Elinore Ann) Carson, Benny Curtis (Euladean) Carson, and Teddy Ewell (Alice) Carson; sisters, Diane (Jim) Burchfield, and Sharon (Dr. Danny W.) Cross; six grandchildren; three great-grandsons; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was conducted October 13, at New Haven Baptist Church with Bro. Philip Kazee officiating. Music was provided by the Singing Cousins. Graveside service was conducted October 14, at Carson Memorial Park.
