HUNTSVILLE — A Clinton man who led police on a high-speed chase into Kentucky after allegedly burglarizing an Oneida variety store has been returned to Tennessee to face those charges.

Michael S. Simpson, 44, of Clinton, was transported by local authorities to Scott County from a Kentucky jail on Friday, more than seven months after his arrest on charges related to the store break-in and the resulting pursuit.

Simpson is accused of breaking into Teresa’s This & That in Oneida on the night of Feb. 28, 2017, before leading officers on a pursuit.
