Edna Phillips Heth, 87, of Oak Ridge, passed away August 27, 2017.
Born in Oneida, she was preceded in death by her parents, Etha and Elmer Phillips; and husband, Charles W. Heth
She was a wife, mother, and homemaker; worked in dime stores and dress shops, and was a local administrative assistant to Rep. LaMar Baker. She owned a secondhand shop (Second Touch), managed her son’s knife shop (Charlie’s Knives), taught Sunday school, and was a Brownie Scout leader. She could roller skate better than anyone and made the best divinity candy. She was funny, wrote poetry, and was always willing to help her family, neighbors, and strangers.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Connor of Oak Ridge; son, Charles Edward (Charlie) Heth of Oak Ridge; granddaughter, Tonya Whalen of Oak Ridge; great-grandchildren: Zac, William, and Cassidy, all of Oak Ridge; sister, Delphia Baldwin of Oneida; and several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral was conducted September 1, at Weatherford Mortuary with Ronnie Booher officiating. Interment was conducted September 2, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.
