Virginia Ann Washam Day, 73, of the Straight Fork community, passed away August 15, 2017, at her home.

Born in Campbell County, February 27, 1944, she was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Flossie Wright Washam; husband, Olin “O.D.” Day; brothers, PFC Denny Washam, and Bobby Washam; and sisters: Helen McGhee, Lois Bullock, Deen Phillips, and Wanda Williams.

She was a member of Capital Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children: Terry (Shawn) Day, Shelda (Tony) Lowe, Roger (Bree) Day, Kathy (Tim) Dixon, and James Day; grandchildren: Willie and Ashley Dixon, Tyler Day, Connor Byrd, Morgan Byrd, Jordan Day, Bethany Day, Adam Day, Emily Kennedy, Hailee Day, Natalya Flaming, and Kimber Day; brothers: Woody (Deborah) Washam, Sonny (Beverly) Washam, and Teddy Washam; and several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was conducted August 19, at Mill Branch Baptist Church with Bro. Carlie Duncan and Bro. Tony Lowe officiating. Music was provided by Old Gum Fork Baptist Church Choir. Interment followed at Mill Branch Cemetery.
