Arlando “Pete” Stephens, 88, of Winfield, passed away August 20, 2017, at Huntsville Manor Nursing & Rehab Facility in Huntsville, following a lengthy illness.

Born in Tennessee, April 4, 1929, he was preceded in death by his parents, Ova and Manila Web Stephens; wife, Wanda Stephens; sister, Osie; and Jana Vee Owens Stephens Mitchell.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict where he served as a medic assistant and a guard; worked for Carter Lee Lumber of Indianapolis, Indiana, before and after the war until his retirement.  At that time, he moved back to the Winfield area.  He was a Christian and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his sons, Randy Stephens, Lanny (Betty) Stephens, and Danny (Shelia) Stephens; grandchildren: April Henderson, Stephanie Falls, Danny Stephens II, and Joe Stephens; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, sister, Verne (Francis) Lawson; and several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

His wish was cremation.
