James “Hal” Phillips, 73, of Winfield, passed away August 10, 2017, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.

Born in Oneida, June 4, 1944, he was preceded death by his parents, William Harrison and Barbara Ann West Phillips; and Grandpa Phillips and Grandpa West.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Phillips of Winfield; daughter, Tammy Phillips; step-son, Crisman Strunk; step-granddaughter, Tera Strunk; sister, Sue (Jack) Lay; brothers: Bob (Mary) Phillips, and Sam (Sandy) Phillips; special friends: Liz Phillips, Paula and Gary Warner, and Lisa Scott; and several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 19, from 1 p.m. until time of memorial service at 2 p.m., in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home. His wish was cremation.
