Jimmie (Too Tall) Gibson, 63, passed away May 27, 2017, at home after a long battle with lung disease.
Born in Tiffin, Ohio, October 31, 1954, he was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Gracie Gibson; brothers, David (Carolyn) Gibson and Donald (Lena) Gibson.
He made a living at first by playing guitar in a band called Freedom from McCreary County, Ky., and in later years he worked as a EMT and a 911 dispatcher. He loved his work was most proud to have these jobs serving the citizens of his county.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Stephens Gibson; sons: Jason Gibson and Timothy (Amy) Gibson, both of Whitley City, Ky., and Jeremy (Kate) Gibson of Louisville, Ky.; daughters: Shannon (Walter) Schenck of Oneida, Jamie (Keith) Gibson of Whitley City, Ky., and Sandi (Brian) Stephens of Somerset, Ky.; 12 grandchildren, sister; Louise Gibson of Stearns, Ky.; brother; Leonard (Corena) Gibson of Pine Knot, Ky.; and many other relatives and friends.
His wish was cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
