Margaret “Gayle” Bridges passed away May 19, 2017.
Born September 15, 1956, she was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Jualyn Loudin Chitwood; in-laws: James and Geneva Bridges, Sandra Lay, and Regina Bridges; aunt, Jewell Chitwood; and little friend, Julian Shae Goodman.
She was a life-long, faithful member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where she taught children’s Sunday school classes, was active in Vacation Bible School, and directed children’s singing and annual Christmas plays. She was blessed with an angelic voice.
She was very optimistic and always saw the good in any situation; was her sister’s keeper, her daughter’s best friend, and always spoiled her husband. She adored her grandchildren and made sure they got anything and everything they wanted. She was known for telling people on Facebook to “Get up and go to Sunday school and church” and wasn’t afraid to shout and praise the Lord when she felt the Holy Spirit. She could always bring her family together with her Sunday dinners. She loved to be outdoors with her grandchildren and pets, working in her garden and flowerbeds, and relaxing by the pool.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Roger Bridges; daughters: Megan (Jeff) Chitwood, and Deana (Michael) Duncan, both of Winfield, and Missy (Wayne) Fischer of Illinois; grandchildren: Havyn and Holden Chitwood, Morgan Strunk, Zachary Strunk, Arielle Strunk, Rylin, Makhylin, Ty, and Makhia Duncan, Mia Liming, Jordan Potter, Aaron Potter, Hayden Potter, Taylor Hatcher, and Austin, Skyler, and Christian Fischer; great-grandchildren: Trace, Jenson, and Grayden; sisters, Alice Sharp of Winfield, and Sonja (Tommy) Wright of Oneida; uncle, Raney (Estelle) Chitwood of Winfield; special nephew, Patrick (Stephanie) Wright, great-nephews, Dawson and Hayden; in-laws: Robyn McBroom, Tammy Walker, Gary (Teresa) Bridges, and Keith Bridges, all of Winfield; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, church family, and many other relatives and friends.
