Lou Etta Phillips Duncan, 92, of Knoxville, passed away April 30, 2017, quietly at home on Sunday, April 30, 2017, attended by her husband.
Born in the New River community of Scott County, February 18, 1925, she was preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell and Susie Phillips.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, neighbor and friend; and had fought cancer for 35 years.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, retired state Court of Criminal Appeals Judge Joe D. Duncan of Knoxville; son, Philip David (Leslie Ann) Duncan, and grandchildren, Meredyth Phillips Duncan and Tyler Witte Duncan, all of Falls Church, Va.; special nephew, Jason Mitchell Phillips of Knoxville; and several other nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was conducted May 12, at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel-Knoxville. Interment was conducted May 13, at Duncan Family Cemetery, Huntsville.
