Cora Marie Roberts, 96, of Stearns, Kentucky, passed away May 9, 2017, at her home.

Born in Gregory, Kentucky, March 10, 1921, she was preceded in death by her parents,  George Harrison and Nannie Ethel Cox Powell; first husband, Luther Coffey; second husband, Thomas Ed Roberts; sons, Tracy Coffey and Dean Roberts; daughter, Wilma Jean Dobbs; brothers: Hubert, Isaac, and Hobert Powell; and sister, Ora Thompson.

She was a member of Stearns First Baptist Church; and in addition to caring for her own family, she had cared for the homes and children of the Robert Gable family, Frank Thomas family, and Dwayne King family.  She was a very independent, hard-working woman with a wonderful sense of humor who was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors.  She enjoyed sewing and crocheting and made countless quilts.  One of her great joys was cooking for her friends and family.

She is survived by her son, Eddy J. (Sharon) Roberts of Huntsville; daughters: Wanda Lee Coffey of Strunk, Ky., Alma Faye Tucker of Hilltop, Ky., Phyllis Ann Williams of Stearns, Ky., and Glynna Sue (Gordon) Hatfield of Pine Knot, Ky.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Jewell Roberts, sister-in-law, Lois Powell; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was conducted May 14, at Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Brent Ford and Bro. Hilton Duncan officiating.  Interment followed at Powell Cemetery.
