Daniel Vern Byrge, Sr., 71, of Robbins, passed away May 5, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Celia Foster and Howard Dan Byrge; grandson, Aaron Lawson; brothers, Charles Foster and Howard D. (Buddy) Byrge; and mother- and father-in-law, Albert and Tiss Myers.

He was of the Baptist faith and was a member and deacon of West Robbins Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Ann (Myers) Byrge of Robbins; son, Daniel Vern Byrge, Jr., of Jamestown; daughters: Anita Denise (Jerry) Tompkins, Mary Lyn (Curtis) Carson, Chrissy Ann (Jerry) Bertram, and Martha Celeste (Kirby) Wright, all of Robbins; grandchildren: Justin, Dustin, Blake and Aaron Byrge, Brandon Phillips, Jonathan Lawson, Amanda Phillips, Tracie Sexton, Kelsie Golden, Jerrica Bertram, Emily Byrge, Rebecca Day, and Christian and Madison Wright; great-grandchildren: Bailey, Jaxon, Cheserae, Karlee, Jacelynn, Kasen, Beau, Bentley, Syler, Brynleigh and Brady; brothers: James Walter (Mitzi) Byrge of Huntsville, Dennis Lee (Karen) Byrge of Helenwood, and Harold Wayne (Brenda) Byrge, and Bobby Darrell Byrge, both of Robbins; sisters: Linda Sue Walker of Huntsville, Sharon Kaye (Freddy) Lowe of Helenwood, Tammie Jo (Keiff) Ellis of Chatsworth, Ga., and Karen Lynn (Randall) Terry, and Jessica Dawn Byrge, both of Oneida;  in-laws: Marilyn Sue Byrge of Huntsville, Deanna Foster of Wartburg, Wayne (Linda) Myers of Okla., Jeff (Karen) Myers of Robbins, and Dennis (Suzanne) Myers of Deer Lodge; and several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was conducted May 8, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Melvin Stephens officiating.  Music was provided by his daughters. Graveside service was conducted May 9, at Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery.
