James Leonard Chambers, 61, of Oneida, passed away March 9, 2017, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.

Born in Oneida, September 25, 1955, he was preceded in death by his father, James Robert Chambers; wife, Betty Chambers; son, Nathan Chambers; daughter, Shonda Kay Chambers; and brother-in-law, Ricky Foster.

He was a member of New Light Baptist Church.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Faye McCarroll; special friend, Pam Jones of Winfield; daughters: Jennifer (Brian) Calhoun, and Christy and Carrie Botts; sons: James (Jessica) Chambers, and Chad (Michelle) Chambers; grandchildren: Byron, Chelsey, Kayla, Dustin, Joshuah, Leah, Morgan, Wylloh, Jasmyn, Savannah, Dominick, Dac, Dayce, Patience, Praylee, Jasmine and Jace; great-grandchildren, Urijah and Brayson; sisters, Madeline Huft and Barbara Foster, both of Oneida; brother, Paul R. Chambers of Oneida; special cousin, Judy Bufford of Ind.; and several nieces, nephews and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted March 14, at New Light Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Fults and Bro. Chase Lay officiating. Interment followed at New Light Cemetery.
