Veronica Chambers Jones, 69, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away February 22, 2017, at Gentiva Hospice.
Born in the Brimstone community, Tennessee, August 10, 1947, she was preceded in death by her parents, Clegie and Marie Chambers; and brother, Rick Chambers.
She was a United States Army veteran, a homemaker, and was a member of Gentian Baptist Church. She loved to shop for others, and was selfless with her giving. She loved to sing, and would share the gospel through her beautiful voice with all who would listen. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, James Jones of Columbus, Ga.; daughters, Michelle Morway and Jaime (Joshua) McCann, both of Columbus, Ga.; grandchildren: Ashton Robbins, Kyle Pate, Liam McCann and Jones McCann, all of Columbus, Ga.; great-grandchild, Timothy; brother, Clegie (Joann) Chambers, Jr., of Leland, NC; sisters: Judy Chambers of LaFollette, Claudia Lee of Tazwell, and Lois Griffith of Huntsville; and several nieces, nephews and many other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
