Norman Dwayne Chitwood, 70, of Winfield, passed away February 18, 2017, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.

Born August 9, 1946, he was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Brannon and Ethel June Chitwood; sisters, Alfreida Naronjo and Ionavee (Bob) Kerber; and brother-in-law, Curtis Wright.

He was a member of Black Oak Baptist Church, a United States Navy veteran, and a member of VFW Post #5669 in Oneida.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Ann Stephens Chitwood of Winfield; son, Patrick Lee (Tashna Jo) Chitwood; daughter, Melaina Dawn (Mussa) Trawlly; step-daughter, Sandra Ball; step-sons, Michael (Kay) Black and Tim Black; grandchildren: Richard Chitwood, Sterling Brock Chitwood, Christan Terry, Korey Terry, Breanna Terry, Jennifer Johnson, Crystal Whitker, Kevin Ensor, Brittany Black, Samantha and Foster Sherman, Rebecca Collins and Tanner Broughton; great-grandchildren, Everest and Caleb; sisters, Marceline Wright and Bradlee Maxwell; and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted February 20, at Black Oak Baptist Church with Bro. Kyle Keeton, Bro. Crestin Burke and Bro. Jim Butler officiating. Music was provided by Black Oak Baptist Church Choir, youth choir and Brianna Upchurch. Graveside service was conducted February 21, at Adkins Cemetery with full military honors conducted by American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.
