Joseph M. Barr, 70, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away January 22, 2017, at Franciscan St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. and Mary F. Price Barr.

He was a Purdue University alumnus, owner of a custom residential/commercial construction company, and served in the Army National Guard achieving the rank of first lieutenant. He was an accomplished carpenter and could fix almost anything. He also enjoyed cooking for his family.

He is survived by his wife, Maryann Duncan Barr of Greenwood, Ind.; sons: Adam (Cathy)Barr of Whiteland, Ind., Stephen (Kimberly) Barr of Hilliard, Ohio, and Wesley (Shimul) Barr of Ventura, Calif.; daughter, Angela (Jeff) Brown of Bellbrook, Ohio; grandchildren: Joseph, Viktoria and Alexis Barr, Rowan and Lydia Brown, Asher, Henry and William Barr, and Montgomery Barr; brother, James W. (Ellen) Barr, II, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and many other relatives.

Funeral mass was conducted February 3, at St. Jude Church, Helenwood, at 11:00 am, Feb. 3. Graveside service followed atDuncan Cemetery, Huntsville.
