Maggie Hellen Byrd Jeffers, 91, of Oneida, passed away peacefully January 17, 2017, at Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center in Oneida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Maude Ella Chambers Byrd; siblings: Wilby Perkins, Carmie Byrd, Cassie Acres, Nora Adkins, Fletcher Byrd, and Cora Arwood; first husband, Hestle Jeffers, and second husband, Segal Jeffers.

She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, and was employed for 25 years at the LaFollette Imperial Shirt Factory. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, ceramics, her family, shopping and jewelry.

She is survived by her son, Hurstle (Treva) Jeffers of Salt Lake City, Utah; daughter, Sue (Muril) Smith of Oneida; granddaughters: Becky Harwood and Melisa Jeffers, both of Salt Lake City, Utah, and  Regina Leeds and Pam May, both of Oneida; great-grandchildren: Michael, Jennifer, Megan, Samantha,  Hannah, Jordan, Amanda, Brittany, Henry and Caroline; great-great-grandchildren: Jonas, Bethany, Canyon, Asher, Dani and Thia; and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted January 21, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. David King and Bro. Muril Smith officiating. Interment followed in Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery.
