Winnie Elizabeth Phillips, 84, of the Cherry Fork community, passed away September 16, 2014, at Pioneer Community Hospital of Scott in Oneida.
Born in Scott County, September 23, 1929, she was preceded in death by her parents, John Marion and Dicey Pike Phillips; husband, Oscar Phillips; brothers: Fred, Mint, and Elmer Phillips; sisters: Nancy Lee Smith, Mary Elsie Phillips and Lily Mae Phillips; nephew, Hertis Phillips; and daughter-in-law, Wilma Jean Phillips.
She was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church; loved her grandchildren and children, and enjoyed cooking for her family on the old-time wood burning stove.
She is survived by her sons: Roger Phillips, James Edward (Thelma) Phillips, and Delbert Phillips, all of the Cherry Fork community; and Robert (Kathleen) Phillips of Helenwood; grandchildren: Gary Phillips, Larry Phillips, Terry Phillips, Mikey Phillips, Christopher Phillips, Betty Jo Phillips, and Fayetta Phillips; great-grandchildren: Jordan, Jacob, Larry, Jr., Thomas, Alivia, Hannah, and Trish; and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted September 19, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home-Huntsville with Bro. Don Smithers and Bro. Dean Barnes officiating. Music was provided by Doug Stanley and Luke Muse. Graveside service was conducted September 20, at Phillips Cemetery.
