Sgt. Marco James Maley, 32, of Helenwood, passed away September 7, 2014, at Pioneer Community Hospital of Scott in Oneida.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, June 24, 1982, he was preceded in death by his grandparents: Hildon and Helen Litton, and Berta Sexton; in-laws, Charles Henry Mills, and Tommy Smith; and niece, Abby.
He was an eight-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving two tours of duty in Iraq and attaining the rank of Sergent; and worked five years for USP of McCreary County, Ky.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda Mills Maley of Helenwood; children: Emily Maley, Sawyer Barnes, and Lucas Maley, all of Helenwood; parents, Gary and Linda Litton of Huntsville; mother-in-law, Georgia Ruth Smith; grandfather, Charles Buster Sexton; brothers: Adam Litton, Michael (LaVada) Litton, Jeff (Casey) Terry, Caleb Litton, Jason Maley, and Clint Maley; sisters: Marie Gunter, Patricia Bryant, and Kimberly Bryant; half-sister, Ashley Maley; special friends: John Best, Michael Litton, Mitchell Smithers, Gregory Boshears, Steven Trotter, Cody Lloyd, Toby Lindsay, and David Phillips; special family: LaDonna Hughett, Henry Mills, and Andy Newport; in-laws: Karen and Jeff Myers, Dean and Jamie Moncrief, Sandy Lloyd, Charles Mills, Jason and Chasity Mills, Jenny Strunk, Henry Mills, and Alena and Jonathon Hill; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted September 11, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home-Huntsville. Interment followed at Reed Cemetery with military honors.
