CLINTON — Scott High improved its record to 4-0 here Thursday evening with a 5-1 win over home standing Clinton.

Haleigh Phillips scored two goals, while Brittany Morrow picked up her fifth goal and fifth assist of the season in the Lady Highlanders' win.

The game had hardly gotten started when Scott High put the scoreboard operator to work, with Phillips scoring a goal on an assist by Morrow in the first minute.

In the fifteenth minute, Scott added to its lead when Morrow scored an unassisted goal.

Three minutes later, Phillips scored her second goal of the night.

In the 25th minute of the first half, Emily Mayes scored on a penalty kick to cap the Lady Highlanders' first half scoring.

Scott's final point came seven minutes into the second half, when Jozlynn Toney scored her fifth goal of the season on an assist by Journey Babb.

Clinton's goal came in the final two minutes of the game.

Scott coach Eric Henry credited the defense of Anna Sexton, Meagan Yancey, Babb and Mayes with helping his team to the win.

The Lady Highlanders will next be in action Tuesday at Sunbright.
