Edward Ray Claiborne, 69, of Helenwood, passed away suddenly August 24, 2014, at his home.
Born in Scott County, February 16, 1945, he was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dorothy Wilson Claiborne; brothers, Billy C., and infant, Bobby Claiborne; and several aunts and uncles.
He had professed hope in the Lord Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his children: Glen (Tammy) of Coalfield, Greg (Christy), and Timmy (Sandy), all of Helenwood, and Natalie (Curtis) Jeffers of Oneida; grandchildren: Mischa, Dustin, Courtney, Cayla, Sierra, Brionna, Braelin, Sidney, Tyler, and William; great-grandchildren: Bryson, Addalin, Kirilee, and Malia; sisters: Betty Schroer of Ind., and Pat (Monroe) Carey of Ohio; sister-in-law, Jean Claiborne of Helenwood; special cousin, Wanda Strunk of Oneida; special friends: Janice Childress and family, and Glen and Pearl Jeffers; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted August 26, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Melvin Stephens and Bro. Bruce Orick officiating. Music was provided by Mischa Claiborne and Crystal Boyatt. Interment followed at Hazel Valley Cemetery.
