HUNTSVILLE — Monday’s meeting of the Scott County Board of Commissioners here was a typical business-as-usual session, despite the fact that it was the final meeting for the mayor and a majority of the commissioners.

Mayor Jeff Tibbals, who chairs the comission, will be leaving office at month’s end, along with nine of the 14-member legislative body — all due to the results of the August General Election.

Monday evening’s 40-minute meeting was conducted before “the biggest crowd we’ve seen since the closure of the hospital,” according to Mayor Tibbals, with many of the seats filled by the successful candidates who will be gathering for their first formal session next month.
