HUNTSVILLE — Either by good planning or happenstance, County Commission’s final monthly meeting before the August 7 General Election was brief, noncontroversial and businesslike.

The 25-minute session held in the meeting room of the Scott County Office Building had two major topics on its agenda: 1) To consider a request to extend the lease of the Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center in advance of an $850,000 upgrade of the county-owned facility; and, 2) Adoption of a resolution honoring the late U.S. Sen. Howard H. Baker’s contributions to Scott County.
