HUNTSVILLE — One Scott County woman was killed and three more from Scott County were injured in a late evening crash here Monday.

Kristal D. Davis, 29, of Helenwood, was fatally injured in the two-vehicle crash, which occurred at the intersection of Scott High Drive and Glasshouse Road at around 10:20 p.m. Monday.

Davis was a passenger in a 2003 Nissan Altima, driven by Jerry L. Harness, of Oneida. The Altima was headed west on Scott High Drive when it collided with a 2008 Ford Escape, driven by Barry M. Stiltner, 37, of Oneida.

A fatality report filed by Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Larry Blakney stated that the vehicle occurred when Stiltner’s Escape drove through the stop sign at the intersection of Glasshouse Road and Scott High Drive and struck Harness’s vehicle.

Both Stiltner and his 14-year-old daughter, a passenger in the vehicle, were injured in the accident, as was Harness.

Davis was not wearing a safety belt, according to the report.

Blakney’s report stated that a citation was issued and charges are “pending.”

Funeral arrangements for Davis were not available as of press time Tuesday.
