Clyde Parton, 82, of Oneida, passed away peacefully, July 7, 2014, with family by his side.

Born in the New River community, December 20, 1931, he was preceded in death by his parents, Manual and Juanita Hatfield Parton; and brothers: Manual, Jr., Ray, Cliff, Ross, and Kenny Parton.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, and was a born again Christian.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Jones Parton of Oneida; children: Debbie Thomas of Clinton, Kathi King and Steve Parton, both of Oneida, Rita (Roger) Lawson of Anniston, Ala., Densie (Doug) Randall of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Doris (Scott) Dills of Oak Ridge; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, sister, Genetta Bolton of Winter Haven, Fla.; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted July 9, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Kermit Phillips officiating. Music was provided by Jan Scates and Charlotte Phillips. Graveside service was conducted July 10, at Hazel Valley Cemetery.
