Betty Lou Phillips, 86 of Oneida, passed away July 14, 2014, at Huntsville Manor & Rehabilitation Center in Huntsville.

Born in Oneida, October 26, 1928, she was preceded in death by her parents, Benton and Winnie Bilbrey Stanley; husband, Odie Phillips; brother, Charles Stanley; and sisters: Brenda Holley, Jo Neilson, and Doris Duncan.

She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church-Oneida; and worked many years in the offices of Scott County Circuit Court and Chancery Court.

She is survived by her daughter: Kathy Lynn Burns of Murfreesboro, and Mary Beth Phillips of Oneida; grandsons: Ian Kirk Borgen and Blake Anthony Borgen, both of Shreveport, La.; brothers: Burt Stanley and Danny Stanley, both of Jefferson City; sisters: Debbie Griffin of Alcoa, Nellie Shanks of Morristown, Irene Smith of Adams, Naomi Cannon of Knoxville, Jean Marlow of Fla., Peggy Boyd of Nashville, Freela Lawson of Brooksville, Fla.; and Opal Phillips of Oneida; and many other relatives.

The family will receive Friends from 1 p.m., until time of funeral service at 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, at First Baptist Church-Oneida with Rev. James Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at Hazel Valley Cemetery.
