Rev. Larry McBeath, 66, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away July 2, 2014, at UT Hospital in Knoxville.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, August 31, 1947, he was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Fred and Lena Marie Chitwood McBeath; and sister, Regina Stephens.
He was a pastor of New Beginnings Assembly of God Church; a member of the Assemblies of God, The Church of God Mt. Assembly of Jellico, and The Church of God, Cleveland. He had worked as a truck driver for IDSC Transportation, and also worked for the McDonald Douglas Company in Long Beach, Calif. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, received two OS Bars, and other honors.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Williams McBeath of Pine Knot, Ky.; sons: Larry James (Kim) McBeath of Buena Park, Calif., and Jason (Jennifer) McBeath of Anaheim, Calif.; daughters: Rochelle (Bob) Davis of Chino Valley, Ariz., and Lanette Beck of Huntington Beach, Calif.; grandchildren: James, Emily, Sarah, Abigail and Ashton McBeath, Kylie, Hunter, Kody, Austin, Katryna and Matthew Davis, and Johnny and Natalie Beck; brother, Terry (Donna) McBeath of Findley, Ohio; and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted July 5, at New Beginnings Assembly of God Church with Rev. Archer Corder, Rev. Terry McBeath, Rev. Aaron Longmire, and Rev. John Lawson officiating. Music was provided by Dorothy Shoemaker and Scott Fray. Military honors were delivered by the Tennessee National Guard.
