Chester Arthur Stanfill, 92, of Oneida, passed away June 30, 2014, at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Virginia.

Born in Winfield, August 18, 1921, he was preceded in death by his parents, Odie M. and Minnie King Stanfill; brothers: Millard, Milford, Sid, and Jessie Stanfill; and sisters Bertie S. Watson and Julia S. Marcum.

He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his sons: Gary Stanfill of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Jimmy (Barbara) Stanfill of Bristol, Va.; step-children: Aileen Jones of Fla., Sandy Endress of Ala., Hoyt Thompson of Oneida, and Pam Thompson of Fayetteville, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Mary Stanfill; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted July 5, at New Haven Baptist Church with Bro. John Vernon Thompson, Sr. officiating. Music was provided by David Brewster. Interment followed at Cooper Memorial Gardens.
