Milford Alan Kidd, 75, of Huntsville, passed away June 20, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  Uriah ìCapî Kidd and Clifton Lucille Smith.

He served in the United States Navy for 20 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, and also served in the Mediterranean and the Middle East.  He helped build the newer destroyers that escort aircraft carriers around the world.  He had two degrees from Dalton College in Dalton, Ga., in computer science and technology and in computer programming.  He played a significant role in the development of the modern microcomputer when he worked for Compucolor Corporation in Norcross, Georgia in the 1970ís.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; son, Alan Wayne Kidd of Jefferson, Georgia; granddaughters, Sakura Rain Kidd and Scarlet Dawn Kidd, both of Jefferson, Ga.;  brother, Jerry Duane Kidd of LaFollette; uncle, Benjamin Hollins Kidd of the Hazel Valley community; and many other relatives.

Interment was conducted June 22, at Carson Cemetery.
