HUNTSVILLE — Nearly five dozen accused drug dealers were targeted by a multi-jurisdictional team of law enforcement officers Thursday evening, the latest "roundup" that resulted from the latest undercover operation by drug agents.

Some 27 accused drug dealers were arrested by the end of the day Thursday, the first day of the round-up, while 29 more suspects remained at-large. Warrants have been issued for the arrests of the remaining suspects, according to Scott County Sheriff Ronnie Phillips.

Officers from the Scott County Sheriff's Department, Oneida Police Department, Winfield Police Department and Sunbright Police Department participated in Thursday's efforts to round up and take into arrest as many suspected drug dealers as possible.

According to Phillips, the round-up concluded an operation that saw undercover operatives working throughout Scott County for several months, making drug purchases from unsuspecting dealers.
