HUNTSVILLE — In what was a relatively brief meeting here Monday evening, County Commission approved a continuing budget resolution, voted to participate in a program with the Tennessee Corrections Institute to improve the county jail environment, and authorized a new two-year term for Veterans Service Officer Ron Keeton.

The continuing budget and tax rate resolution was needed to keep county government rolling into the new fiscal year — which begins July 1 ­— until a new county budget can be formally adopted.
