Vivian P. Sexton, 55, passed away June 14, 2014, at UT Medical Center in Knoxville.
Born February 10, 1959, she was preceded in death by her parents, A.V. and Cloretta West Phillips; and in-laws: Cornelius Sexton, Vilda Slaven Sexton, and Philip Fenton Sexton.
She was a long-time employee at Scott County Hospital where she loved helping people during her 32 years of nursing.
She is survived by her husband of more than 37 years, Leslie Sexton; children: Jonathan Craig (Tamera) Sexton, and Matthew Trae (Sarah) Sexton; grandchildren: Hunter Cole Sexton, Jaxon Craig Sexton, Zachariah Trae Sexton, and Amelia Brae Sexton; in-laws: Patricia (Ron) Roberts, Marsha (Dean) Barnes, and Janet (Sammy) Yancey; brother, Al Veron (Carrie) Phillips; special cousins, Claudene Laxton and Marvin Evans; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted June 17, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home-Oneida with Bro. Dean Barnes officiating. Music was provided by Paint Rock Church Choir. Graveside service was to have been conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, at Sexton Memorial Cemetery in the Paint Rock community.
