Cpl. James Albert Dale (Bear) Myers, 28, formerly of Robbins, passed away June 5, 2014, in Knoxville.

Born in Oak Ridge, November 7, 1985, he was preceded in death by his grandparents: Albert and Mary ìTisî Myers, and Charles Mills.

He was a Marine Corps veteran who served two tours in Iraq.

He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Karen Mills Myers; daughters: Destiny, Jamalyn, and Jaycee; brothers: Jeffery (Tanika) Myers of Winfield, Nathan Myers of Oneida, and Joel Myers; sisters: Jessi Myers, and Kylie and Kayden Myers; the mother of his daughters, Dara West; grandmother, Georgia Ruth Smith of Robbins; nieces and nephews: Brettlyn, Gracie, Alex, Gage, Peyton, and Waylon; special papaw Leon and granny Nell Myers of Elgin; special cousins: Mike and Stephanie Myers, Bryan and Mary Myers, Glen Davidson, and Troy Seabolt;  aunts and uncles: Ann and Vern Byrge, Sgt. Major Wayne and Linda Myers, Dennis and Suzanne Myers, Geraldine and Jamie Moncrief, Sandy Lloyd, John Carson, Charles Jr. Mills, Jason and Chasity Mills, Jenny Strunk, Tommy Brooks, Henry Mills, Nicole Davidson, Amanda and Marco Maley, and Alena and Jonathan Hill; special friend, Jamie Griffith of Robbins; and many other relatives.

Graveside service was conducted June 13, at McCartt-Butler Cemetery, Elgin, with Rev. Kermit Phillips officiating. Full military honors were provided by American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.
