Ruby Patton Williams, 81, of Brooks, Georgia, passed away May 31, 2014.

Born in Scott County, September 11, 1932, she was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Ella Patton.

She graduated from Norma High School, where she played basketball and was class Salutatorian; and worked for 32 years for Southern Bell as an operator and an accounting clerk and was very active in the Telephone Pioneers. She was a long-time member of Lisbon Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the choir for many years. She enjoyed traveling and had visited 49 of the 50 states, and loved working in her yard with her flowers and plants.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Gene Williams of Brooks;, Ga.; daughters: Sharon (Rocky) Hill of Senoia, and Brenda Richardson of Fayetteville; granddaughters, Kelly and Lisa Hill, both of Atlanta; sisters: Joyce (Arthur) Duncan of Lithia Springs, and Billie Carr of Acworth; brother, Gaven (Betty) Patton of Temple; in-laws: Mickey Williams of Fayetteville, and Howard Williams of Murfreesboro; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted June 4, at Lisbon Baptist Church, Fayetteville, Ga. Interment followed at the church cemetery.
